Double Strollers

The first thing I am going to answer in this article is, what is a double stroller?

I will keep this simple, a double stroller is used commonly when a mother has twins or 2 children of a very young age. The most simplest way to put it is like this, it is one baby stroller with 2 seats. Although depending on the parents liking they can be very different, let me explain some of the things parents look out for when buying a double stroller.

#1 – Weight – It can be a major pain if you get a heavy stroller, in the end you will be extremely fit if you are lugging around a heavy stroller but they are not really that paratactical and don’t make your life any easier. Most parents out there who are looking for a double stroller try to find the lightest but safest one they can find. Just keep in mind that having a light one can sometimes be a burden to, if it is very light then you do run the chance of the double stroller being able to tip more easily. Just remember, what ever you are carrying, if it is a nappy bag to shopping, put it under the seats and not on the handles.

#2 – Size – Is it to big to fit in the car? or does it fit in the car just right? You are going to want to transport your double stroller around so you must make sure it fits in your car. There are plenty of double stroller which fold in and are able to sit nicely in your car.

#3 – Maneuverability – How easy is it to move? This is also a major thing to consider, it is very important that you get a double stroller which is easy and simple to move, this will make your life 10 times easier.

If you cover these 3 points above and you find a stroller which matches all of them and it is  in your price range, you have found a winner.

Types of double strollers to consider.

Tandem Double Stroller – The popular choice for mums with 2 youngsters at a separate age is the tandem double stroller. Basically, it is like an extended version of a baby strollers, instead of 1 seat it has another seat in front of the back seat. Normally the seats in a tandem double stroller are revered to as stadium seats, this means the back seat is higher up then the front seat so you baby can see the world and not the back of the seat in front.

Side by Side Double Stroller – This one pretty much explains it self, it is 2 seats side by side. This is popular if the mum has twins. Just a little heads up, these are generally more harder to maneuver then a tandem double stroller so that is something to keep in mind if you are buying one of these.
